TravelManagers' intranet together with its new supplier update distribution system is fast becoming a most efficient and effective way for suppliers to communicate with their rapidly expanding personal travel manager network.

TravelManagers executive general manager, Mandy Scotney says not only is it an effective use of suppliers time, it enables a professional approach to communicating across the network.

"The Oracle is a key mechanism in allowing us to provide all of our personal travel managers with access to up to date information, at their fingertips. It collates a range of daily information feeds from multiple industry and government sources and presents them on the home page in a single view.  This allows the PTMs to catch up on multiple travel advisories, product updates and news items as they go online at the start of each business session. The beauty is we can track the traffic and as a result we know from looking at the figures that usage is in excess of 98 percent."

Ms Scotney says it is an effective way for suppliers to maximise their relationships with TravelManagers' personal travel managers on an individual basis.

"The Oracle is rich in content and contains everything from our operations manuals, local marketing kit, airfare updates to a worldwide destination database that features key suppliers, what products they supply and to which countries and regions."

Ms Scotney says that they also use it as the vehicle for their community forums which are divided into destinations, cruise, airlines and airfares, land product, marketing and community.

"In addition to this we provide all of our personal travel managers with access to the Amadeus and Tramada mid and back office systems, which are interfaced so that client information only has to be entered once so there is no double handling.

"As a result of all of this content, our personal travel manager use it constantly meaning it is a great avenue for suppliers to educate, excite and update them of what's new, on special, needs attention - whatever they want."

Partner suppliers are each provided with their individual pages on The Oracle allowing them to list information about their operation and products, ensuring their profile remains top of mind.

"On their pages we also provide access to the supplier's trade website and process bookings via their internet booking engines so it is quick and easy. We have a fantastic search engine on the Oracle too which allows us to search by a word, combination of words or a phrase. This is vitally important because it is all about being efficient."

Ms Scotney says another avenue for suppliers via the Oracle is training.

"This comes in many forms, it could be a webinar, a regional training day or small local cluster meeting. The important fact is that it allows our partner suppliers to liaise directly with our business partnership managers to ensure they secure the benefits of these opportunities.

"There are also marketing opportunities for suppliers through our consumer promotions which we place in our quarterly Personal Travel Catalogues and our fortnightly "Personally Yours" eNewsletters. Plus there are a variety of local travel expos and film nights organized by the personal travel manager themselves, for their communities."

TravelManagers boast an average industry experience of 15 years, across their 240 plus personal travel managers and reassuringly for clients all monies paid go into a centrally managed client account, Ms Scotney says.
