TravelManagers Shines Spotlight on Success at Gala Awards Night
TravelManagers’ annual National Conference concluded last night with an evening of revelry that celebrated excellence in all its forms. More than 500 personal travel managers (PTMs), partner suppliers, media partners and National Partnership Office (NPO) team members gathered in Bali’s Nusa Dua to attend the three-day event that culminated in a glittering awards ceremony.
Emma Lucas was named Personal Travel Manager of the Year for 2024/25, having earlier claimed the award for top PTM in her home state of Victoria, while fellow Victorian Joel Webb was named the nationwide winner of New PTM of the Year. The Above and Beyond Award, which recognises PTMs who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist others with acts of exceptional service, kindness or dedication, was this year shared by two Queensland-based PTMs, Karen Christie and Rebecca Harrison.
TravelManagers’ network of PTMs cast their votes prior to the conference to determine the recipient of the PTM Choice Award, which was awarded this year to Rachael Portelli. According to Chief Operating Officer Grant Campbell, the accolade is given to: “a fellow PTM whose qualities may include willingness to help, professionalism, upholding the TravelManagers brand and developing the unique culture within our business”. The network also selected Vietnam Travel & Tours as this year’s winner of the Partner Supplier of the Year.
PTM Carli Byrne received the prestigious Barry Mayo Spirit Award, which acknowledges someone who lives, breathes and reflects the heart and soul of TravelManagers. The award is open to any person within the TravelManagers family who has been key to developing, maintaining and enhancing its unique culture.
“We also acknowledged the milestone accomplishments of 66 PTMs and NPO staff who have achieved ten or fifteen years with TravelManagers,” Campbell adds, “along with Lisa Metzl who, as our longest serving PTMs, is celebrating her twenty-year anniversary with us in 2025.”
