A travel industry veteran with more than twenty years’ experience has become the latest addition to TravelManagers’ National Partnership Office (NPO) team. Jackie Sommers has been named as Business Partnership Manager (BPM) for Victoria, joining an existing team of six BPMs who between them provide support and mentoring to personal travel managers (PTMs) in every Australian state and territory.

TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager describes Sommers as a highly valuable addition to the NPO team who brings extensive experience in multiple areas of the travel industry to her new role.

“Jackie’s career has encompassed travel consultant, team leader in retail and corporate, brand leader, and Area Leader in Victoria/Tasmania. She was also a PTM with TravelManagers for three years so has first-hand experience with the same challenges and opportunities as the PTMs she will now be supporting.”

As part of her induction process, Sommers spent time familiarising herself with a broad range of NPO support roles ranging from Accounts Support and Operations to Marketing, Fares & Ticketing and the Tramada Support Team.

“I spent an entire week in Sydney getting reacquainted with various systems and support staff,” Sommers reports. “I’m excited to be stepping into this role at a time when TravelManagers is experiencing a period of significant recovery and growth.”

“Jackie’s appointment means our team of BPMs is now just one fewer than in pre-pandemic days,” Gazal adds. “Having experienced month after month of record trading since May 2022, we are committed to ensuring that our PTMs are comprehensively supported in achieving their goals as we head into what looks to be an equally strong 2023.”
