TravelManagers has announced the appointment of Maggie Bootsman as its newest Business Partnership Manager (BPM), a move which it says had become necessary due to the strong post-pandemic recovery the company has experienced this year.
Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal, says Bootsman brings a wealth of travel industry experience to the role: “as well as eight years as a retail travel agent, Maggie has worked with airlines, a GDS and a travel agency franchise. Most recently she was the General Manager of UK-headquartered Travel Counsellors in the United Arab Emirates.”
According to Gazal, Bootsman’s arrival will boost TravelManagers’ team of state-based BPMs to seven, joining two BPMs each in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
The newly created role will see Bootsman providing support to personal travel managers (PTMs) South Australia and Tasmania. While now being based in Adelaide, Bootsman was born and raised in the Apple Isle, and says she is delighted to have its PTMs assigned to her care.
Bootsman says she is looking forward to taking on the challenges and opportunities presented by her new role, which she believes to be a great fit for the skills she has acquired over the course of her career.
“The past couple of years have been tough for many in the industry but I believe that my can-do attitude and experience make me a great fit for the TravelManagers family in this next phase.”
With PTMs achieving record sales and growth every month since February, Gazal says TravelManagers is committed to ensuring that they continue to receive a level of support which aligns with the rate of growth and is anticipating a return to 2019 levels before too long.
“Our post-pandemic recovery is continuing at pace,” he concludes, “and we are delighted to have Maggie joining the TravelManagers family during such an exciting period of opportunity.”
