TravelManagers’ Chief Operations Officer and Operations Manager (Grant Campbell and Troy Coelho, respectively), recently attended Signature Travel Network’s Annual Conference, which brought together more than 2000 global delegates and representatives from more than 540 suppliers at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.
The three-day event, which comes as TravelManagers approaches the first anniversary of its partnership with the luxury travel brand, included a two-day supplier trade show, thought-provoking presentations from keynote speakers and opportunities for Campbell and Coelho to take private meetings with key members of Signature’s senior management team, including with Signature’s President and CEO, Alex Sharpe, and Vice President of Member Engagement, Kimberly Waters.
“The meetings provided valuable opportunities to review our first year of partnership and to identify further opportunities to build on our experiences as we head into the first half of 2023,” Campbell notes.
He says the high-calibre speakers included legendary polar explorer and mountaineer, Alison Levine, who used her experiences in climbing Mt Everest to examine people’s attitudes to success and failure, challenge and opportunity.
With TravelManagers having joined Signature Travel Network earlier this year, this was Coelho’s and Campbell’s first opportunity to experience the annual conference first-hand, and in doing so, gained a clearer understanding of the depth and breadth of the opportunities it offers. Such is the quality of the event that when next year’s conference dates were announced, Campbell says many participants were already looking to lock in their 2023 travel arrangements to attend.
“As the only Australian travel brand at the conference, our participation served to emphasise the value of our partnership with Signature,” Campbell notes. “Our PTMs, and therefore their clients, benefit from unparalleled access to the world’s best hotels and tour operators, including ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and value-adds that customers would be unable to source on their own.”
The theme for Signature’s annual conference was “Together,” which by coincidence or serendipity mirrored the theme of TravelManagers’ annual national conference, which took place in Sydney in September.
“Signature’s vision for their event was for a celebration of members and partners working together towards a bright and sustainable travel future for all,” Campbell reports. “As the world continues its post-pandemic reopening, it’s a sentiment that aligns perfectly with TravelManagers’ own vision for 2023.”
