TravelManagers has announced the appointment of Lia Malone to its newly created role of Cruise Product Manager. Malone joined the company’s National Partnership Office (NPO) team last month, bringing with her more than ten years’ extensive experience in the cruise industry.

TravelManagers’ Finance & Commercial Manager, Tanyu Cilek, says Malone’s appointment has been enthusiastically received, with personal travel managers, cruise companies and wholesalers all offering their congratulations.

“Lia has a wealth of experience within the cruise industry,” he notes, “most recently as heading up the product team at Ecruising.travel. We’re delighted to welcome her and excited to put her skills to great use.”

According to Cilek, TravelManagers is looking to build on its already strong track record cruise sales, with Malone expected to identify further opportunities for growth.

“Lia will be supported in her role by our Cruise Operations Executive, Leeanne Freeman: together, they will work with TravelManagers’ cruise partners to identify ways in which we can work more closely, increase customer reach and grow sales.”

Equally important will be Malone’s focus on upgrading product training for PTMs, equipping them with the necessary skills and product knowledge with which to expand their client demographics and grow their sales.

“Prior to the pandemic, cruise sales were growing steadily, and we are already seeing a return to that upward trend,” Cilek notes. “The cruise market represents a key component in the overall recovery of the travel sector, and Lia’s appointment as Cruise Product Manager will ensure that our PTMs are well resourced to capitalise on its resurgence.”
