A whirlwind three-day visit to Hong Kong was just long enough for personal travel manager (PTM) Emma Ross to appreciate its many charms and understand its appeal as much more than a stopover destination.

Ross, who is based in Bulimba, QLD, was representing TravelManagers as part of a travel agent famil group that was hosted by Cathay Pacific and New World Millennium Hotel.

“We packed a lot into a short amount of time, exploring the vibrant Central District, as well as crossing by ferry to Kowloon to experience the popular Tsim Sha Tsui and Cultural Districts of Kowloon. We even had time to browse Mongkok’s bustling Ladies Markets and Sneaker Street, and we were treated to some amazing dining experiences – especially the dumplings at Din Tai Fung.”

The group spent their final day in Hong Kong experiencing the wonders of Disneyland Hong Kong: Ross, despite not having considered herself ‘a Disney person’, describes the experience as “actually pretty cool – it’s a great location to get a taster for the Disney experience.”

Ross says Hong Kong impressed her as having great appeal to a variety of clients, from a group of friends experiencing the excitement of the Rugby 7s to a relaxing girls’ shopping getaway, complete with poolside cocktails.

“It’s incredibly safe and easy to travel around, so great for families, and if you want a taste of the Disney experience without huge queues and days of walking, Hong Kong Disneyland hits all the right notes. You definitely need to allow yourself a few days – there is so much to see outside of the city too!”
