When personal travel manager (PTM) Bridget Frost received an invitation to bring her kids along for a fun day aboard Carnival Splendor in Sydney, she’s says she’s not sure who was more excited.
“It was a totally different way of experiencing the ship, and it turned out to be even more fun than we expected!”
The Carnival Fun Day was an exclusive TravelManagers event which provided participants with a unique opportunity to experience Carnival Splendor through their children’s eyes. TravelManagers’ Business Partnership Manager for NSW/ACT, Melinda Rowe, who was accompanied by her daughter Elyssa, says after a brief introductory tour, the group were free to experience everything the ship has to offer, from the water slides to the various dining options.
“There was even a scavenger hunt which motivated the kids to explore and find places around the ship for a chance to win a prize.”
“Lunch didn’t disappoint, with a fantastic selection that ranged from pizza slices at Pizza del Capitano and burgers from Guy’s Burger Joint, to Asian-inspired dishes at the Mongolian Wok, or a kid-favourite poolside sandwich.”
The group was hosted by Carnival’s Business Development Manager, Sarah Miller, who ensured that the adults were able to enjoy some quality, child-free time at the ship’s adults-only Serenity Retreat while the kids were kept entertained.
“Serenity was great, listening to some reggae music and getting away from the hustle and bustle,” notes PTM Vicki Wood, “but I loved seeing all the kids having a fabulous time on the slides, pools, whirlpools, table tennis – and of course, the ice-cream machine!”
PTM Joanne Miller reports that her daughter, Nat, was still buzzing when they arrived home: “she hasn’t stopped talking about the slides, the ice cream machine and the ping pong tables. Thank you to Carnival for the fantastic opportunity to bring her, and she’s delighted that she made her big sister jealous!”
