Personal Travel Managers Find Passion, Purpose and Clarity in Bali

TravelManagers hosted its annual National Conference in Bali’s Nusa Dua last week. More than five hundred personal travel managers (PTMs), partner suppliers, media partners and National Partnership Office (NPO) team members attended the three-day event, with plenary sessions, workshops and keynote presentations all tailored to the conference theme: Clarity.

“Last year’s conference theme, Working Smarter, laid the groundwork by looking at how we could refine our practices and embrace changes that would make us more efficient,” explains Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal. “Clarity has been about empowering our people to further sharpen those efficiencies by learning how to cut through the noise, define their goals and focus their energy.”

The opening keynote speaker was Milo Wilkinson: renowned Behavioural Scientist and Behavioural Futurist. Described as ‘a trailblazer in the world of behavioural prediction,’ she shared her insights as a decipherer of human patterns and a master of leadership under pressure.

Always a crowd favourite, the lineup of PTM speakers saw Danielle Goncalves, Stacey Farnham, Dom Bellissimo, Tanya Nielsen and Maddy Pullen share stories, and NPO speaker Georgia Thomas delivered something extra special this year; as well as being a speaker, team members helped to cut her hair on stage to donate, and she raised an incredible $8,296 for her chosen charity, Variety’s ‘Hair with Heart’.

Conference attendees also spent a morning taking part in a community-focused event at a local school in Nusa Dua, wielding paint brushes and spades in their efforts to create a better learning environment for the children.

The closing keynote speaker was 2024 NSW Australian of the Year, Kath Koschel. The former athlete and founder of The Kindness Factory delivered an inspiring presentation about survival, resilience and the power of ordinary people to achieve extraordinary things.

Formalities concluded on Thursday afternoon with the unveiling of TravelManagers’ chosen location for its 2026 conference.

“Hobart is a destination that is renowned not just for its world-class wineries and breathtaking landscapes. As a centre for creativity and innovation, we think it’s an inspired choice for conference 2026,” Gazal reveals.
