TravelManagers Duo Samples Northern Territory’s Most Iconic Experiences
Featured photo: More than 50,000 lights covering an area equivalent to seven football fields, Uluru Field of Light is an art installation unlike any other.
When offered the opportunity to participate in one of two five-day famils showcasing the best of what the Northern Territory has to offer, two of TravelManagers’ personal travel managers (PTMs) were among those who were eager to participate.
The famils were designed by Tourism Northern Territory to include a variety of experiences, both iconic and slightly more off-the-beaten-track, and included flights, ground transportation, accommodation, activities and meals.

Kerrin Poupos, who is TravelManagers’ representative for Warragul, VIC, chose the Red Centre famil, which began with a visit to Uluru. Some of the highlights of her three-night stay included the spectacular Voyages Field of Light installation and the Sounds of Silence dining experience.
“From Uluru, we headed King’s Creek Station, which is located about 40 kilometres from the magnificent Kings Canyon (Watarrka) and set amongst majestic desert oaks,” she explains. “Visiting Kings Canyon itself was a highlight of the trip – it’s somewhere I have never had the opportunity to visit before, and a true natural wonder that is not to be missed.”
Fellow PTM Erryn Morris, who is TravelManagers representative for Gooseberry Hill, WA, opted for the ‘Top End’ famil which began in Darwin before heading to Litchfield National Park, Tiwi Islands and Kakadu National Park.

“Litchfield National Park really epitomises the Top End,” Morris reports, “with its amazing scenery and the chance to cool off swimming in billabongs, but I also loved visiting Kakadu and the Royal Flying Doctor Facility in Darwin.”
Morris says she welcomed the opportunity to experience first-hand the itinerary’s extensive array of excursions, many of which she has been selling for years: “Tourism Northern Territory put together a fabulous itinerary and we were incredibly well looked after.”
For Poupos, the famil presented a fantastic opportunity to witness the spectacular scenery of the Red Centre, while also experiencing the indigenous culture: watching spear and boomerang displays, learning about bush tucker and bush medicine and being taught a little of the local languages.
“It was great to see for myself how the Northern Territory’s tourism industry is recovering after Covid, while also refreshing my knowledge of this unforgettable destination.”
